Amber holds a bachelor of Arts with honors in Fashion and Apparel Design from New Zealand’s leading fashion school at the University of Technology, Auckland.
After graduating she moved to Sydney to work as a Visual Merchandiser for David Lawrence & Marcs whilst simultaneously completing a Design internship at Therese Rawsthorne where she was later promoted to Design Assistant. Sensing that Australian Designer Fashion was in decline post GFC, she made the switch to long standing, fast fashion retail giant ICE design where she developed expertise as a fashion buyer and merchandiser.
Amber joined Showpo as Head Buyer at 24 and has since been instrumental in the company’s dramatic growth. Within four short years she has transformed the production process, achieving the key strategic goal of unique production by 2016. At the same time growing her department headcount from 2 to 22, a driving force in the company’s target of 100M by 2020.
Amber is passionate about developing talent both in her capacity as a senior leader at Showpo and within the broader industry as a mentor and guest lecturing at The Fashion Institute of Sydney.
She aspires to play a pivotal role in the move towards a sustainable and all-inclusive fashion industry, having recently launched Showpo’s first All-Sizes Campaign.
