Allecia Vermillion
Senior Editor, Seattle Met
Allecia Vermillion is a senior editor at Seattle Met, overseeing the magazine’s food and drink coverage and tending to the bar and restaurant blog, Nosh Pit. These duties can include anything from breaking restaurant news to probing the origin story of the pumpkin spice latte to eating a $200 foie gras–studded hot dog and pondering what it all means. After working as a newspaper reporter—covering cops, courts, and city council meetings for a Chicago Sun-Times suburban bureau—Allecia first wheedled her way onto the Sun-Times food page as a freelancer. After moving to Seattle, she became founding editor of Eater Seattle and has been in her current post at Seattle Met since 2011. Allecia is a native of Portland, Oregon and attended Washington University (no, the one in St. Louis), then received her masters in journalism at Northwestern University.
