We invite you to join us for this interactive breakfast for Women in Technology. We are featuring great women in tech to give their insight on how they reached their level of success, advice on navigating the workplace, and how we can help the next generation of women in tech.
Join us for lightning talks by a handful of amazing women in the Chicago tech scene and take a deeper dive into the issues women face in the tech industry and find solutions to how we can rise above the obstacles and thrive in this growing field.

Founder & CEO,
Colleen Wilson is the Founder & CEO of Collaborate Chicago - a product strategy and product marketing consulting firm. Colleen has 12 years of financial services, fintech, and SaaS product leadership experience. She spent the first 10 years of her career at Edward Jones where she worked in product management, product marketing, client research and segmentation, and led product development and go-to-market for the financial planning software and process. While getting her MBA from Washington University in St. Louis, Colleen served as a due diligence committee member for ArchGrants and as a venture advisor at the TRex incubator in St. Louis. Most recently Colleen led product strategy and product marketing for the small-business lending platform Square Capital, turning it into the fastest growing product at Square. Her diverse experience helped her develop a unique understanding of business from the lens of a customer, competitor, owner, and investor combined.
Through Collaborate Chicago, Colleen advises and consults with startup and grow-staged companies on product strategy, go-to-market planning, and product development. She also regularly speaks on entrepreneurship, leadership, mindset, and product growth.

After graduating from Northwestern University in 2004, Christy went into banking and investments. Though she enjoyed the business aspect of banking, she found her heart wasn't in her career and abruptly changed directions into wellness and yoga in. From 2008 until 2013, Christy created her own corporate wellness business and soon realized she wanted to merge her love of business with her love of helping people. She went on to complete her Master's degree in Industrial & Organizational Psychology with a specialization in HR from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology as well as received her PHR license in 2013 and SHRM-SCP license in early 2017 . Christy now uses her HR knowledge, education, and recruiting experience to help business owners and their employees succeed. This combined with her finance knowledge and experience as an entrepreneur creates a winning combination that understands her clients needs and their budgets.

Jen Busenbark is the VP of Product at ActiveCampaign, a SaaS marketing automation platform that helps businesses meaningfully connect and engage with their customers. At ActiveCampaign, Jen is responsible for developing and executing on the product vision to continue to provide value for our customers.
Prior to joining ActiveCampaign, Jen was a Director of Product at Braintree, where she joined in 2009 as the first product manager. In her eight years at Braintree, she helped design Braintree’s processes including planning, building, launching and just about everything else pertaining to software delivery, in addition to scaling the team to over 20 product managers. Jen spent the first nine years of her career as a consultant for ThoughtWorks, a global IT consulting company, helping clients build products in industries such as leasing, insurance, and online auctions.
Jen continues to give back as a member of the tech community in Chicago, taking active roles in groups like Product Tank Chicago, as well as smaller groups to help empower and engage her peers.
Lorena Mesa Software Engineer at Sprout Social, Co-Founder & Organizer at PyLadies Chicago
Political analyst turned coder, Lorena Mesa is a Sprout Social software engineer on data science, Director on the Python Software Foundation, PyLadies Chicago co-organizer, and Tech Ladies Chicago city organizer. Lorena loves to make meaning out of data, asking big questions and using her code to build models to derive that meaning. Part Star Wars fanatic but mostly a Trekkie, Lorena abides by the motto to "live long and prosper".

ARA aspires to Attract, Retain, and Advance women in technology by cultivating relationships via mentorship, events and programs. We nurture strong female professionals who can support, inspire and advance the IT community. Active in six markets – Chicago, New York, Seattle, Houston, Silicon Valley and Denver – ARA offers a formal mentoring program as well as regular learning and networking events. From moderated panels to roundtable discussions, each event is designed to provide members with advice and insight on how to advance and succeed in their careers.
ChickTech Chicago is a chapter of ChickTech, a national non-profit organization committed to increasing the number of girls and women in technology while improving the culture of the industry itself. From local conferences to hands-on workshops to mentoring, we create an inclusive community for girls and women that increases their sense of belonging, interest, and self-confidence in technology and engineering.
