Paria Rajai runs ModelExpand, a leading diversity recruiting strategy firm. She has worked in tech for nearly ten years and first began her work on diversity initiatives designing global women in tech events with Yahoo. Since then, Paria was on the leadership team of Hackbright Academy - the country’s first coding school for women - working to connect companies such as Amazon, Yelp and Slack with more women engineers. She also helped organize the inaugural Women of MENA in Tech Conference in Silicon Valley and has been selected as a mentor for the State Department’s TechWomen program. Paria was recently profiled in Forbes for being a leader and advocate in the world of tech, marketing and diversity. As tech continues to grow at a rapid pace, her goal is to ensure individuals from all backgrounds are included.
Brenda Scariot Panagrossi
Vice President, Platform & Product Management,
Brenda Panagrossi is Vice President of Platform and Product Management at Ubisoft. A 20-year veteran of the gaming and technology industry, Brenda is responsible for new business, partner ecosystems, sales planning and digital operations. Previously, Brenda initiated and developed the company's digital distribution sales organization for PC and console platforms as well as direct sales through its online store.
Brenda is from Gilroy, California, the Garlic Capital of the World, and enjoyed working for a year in its sister city in Japan, Takko-machi. She earned a bachelor's in International Relations, World Trade and Development from UC Davis with studies in Spain and Germany. She lives in San Carlos with three avid gamers: her husband, daughter and son. Her favorite games are Rayman, Splinter Cell, Trials, Assassin’s Creed and Watch Dogs!
Engineering Manager, Cloud Licensing Services,
Natalie took CS classes during her high school years in Israel (1996-1998), this experience developed into a lifelong passion for Software Engineering. After serving in the IDF (1998-2000) Natalie then received her BSc in Information Systems Engineering from Technion, Israel (2000-2005). Key highlights during her college years included getting married, having her first baby, and building her first distributed software systems. After graduating college Natalie then advanced her career as a Platform Engineer working for a multitude of startups in Israel, Australia, and the US. Prior to working at Autodesk Natalie was a Tech Lead/Senior Data Engineer. One year ago Natalie joined Subscriber Platform Group DPE at Autodesk as an Engineering Manager. She currently leads one of the Cloud Licensing Services teams delivering mission critical systems to Autodesk’s cloud transformation.
Natalie’s hobbies include spending time with her family, sharing her passion for coding with elementary school students, doing Zumba, and reading.
Principal Product Manager,
Rovina (Broomfield) Valashiya is passionate about business strategy, entrepreneurship, and leadership. She enjoys an exciting career leading a product management team at Amazon and has successfully launched businesses, both within the company and independently. In 2018, she received Amazon’s Just Do It Award from CEO, Jeff Bezos, for innovating on behalf of customers to build and launch Amazon Textures & Hues – an online shop for textured hair care.
Her Amazon career began in 2012 with positions in retail, supply chain, and product management, while also serving as the president of Amazon’s Black Employee Network (2016-2018). She independently operates a Christian streetwear brand, Fiber Sole, and authored Pray for Potatoes which guides readers on a pursuit of professional success through biblical principles.
Rovina studied at Washington University in St. Louis and holds an MBA from Olin Business School and an undergraduate Finance degree. Outside of work, she is an avid snowboarder and basketball player, fan of live music, public speaker and explorer of the great outdoors.
Amanda Martinez is dedicated to making the technology industry a more diverse and inclusive place through education and community action. Currently, Amanda is an Engineering Manager at Flywheel, a managed WordPress hosting company. There she manages and supports three teams of engineers, actively participates in Flywheel's community initiatives, and sits as a board member on Flywheel's diversity and inclusion committee. Amanda specializes in building strong teams, creating connections, and educating the underserved communities about careers in the tech industry. She volunteers with Mystery Code Society, OPS IT Advisory Board, NTC PK-12 committee, SheCode, and You Go Girl. When she isn't doing all the things related to diversity and inclusion, she loves cooking and spending time with her family and Great Dane, Layla, in Omaha.
