User-focused NLP for Product Reviews at Levi’s with Barak Krakauer, Data Scientist at Levi's:

This talk discusses an initiative to make the content from reviews more digestible to potential customers on product pages. Translated to a data science project, the challenge is to locate keywords and phrases from a set of product reviews and find a sample of such n-grams that describe the pros and cons of that product. Several approaches were attempted, from fairly traditional methods based on topic modeling to more contemporary approaches involving attention mechanisms in deep neural networks. We will discuss the benefits and drawbacks of these approaches, in addition to related issues that arose with respect to user experience design and user testing.
