About this event

Data-driven Journalism (DDJ) is the process of converting data into a story; there is a particular focus on the visual elements of storytelling. A data scientist relies on these same elements in automated reports, data visualization, and dashboards. The DDJ community offers insight into best practices for effectively communicating visualization information. These lessons can positively impact the data scientist's effectiveness to share their findings.

At the end of this lecture, you will have some new tricks to communicate your data better. You will be able to craft narratives out of statistics. And will learn exemplary static & interactive data visualizations, best practices for choosing software tools, and style suggestions for text, color, & orientation.

Open to all Data Scientists and those looking to transition into a Data career.
