Our hacker-journalist guest tells his story of how a transgender rights cause was facilitated by handing the interview mic to the audience. Using machine learning services (Google Speech API for Voice Recognition, IBM Watson for Natural Language Processing) Marc is able to take voiced questions from users and 'direct' them at Bhumika, the transgender rights activist. IBM Watson has access to a video databank of answers and exposition, and based on a confidence score determines which segments would form the best response. The project has received praise from around the world and is an excellent exposition on how AI can facilitate the extraordinary.
