State of Boston's Economic Development with Chief Barros | Online

About this event

In partnership with Untapped Potential Boston, Local Voices Network, SPARK Bostonm, GA is hosting a fireside chat with John Barros, Boston's Chief of Economic Development.

During this fireside chat, we plan to discuss: • how the city is working towards and has plans for increasing access to opportunity and driving inclusive economic growth • Boston’s vision around workforce readiness  • how millennials can play a role in it all.  

This is the first event in SPARK Boston's Chief Chat series, which brings together city officials and young adult residents in dialogue about improving Boston. The program is designed to keep millennials informed of various initiatives happening in the city; the context that spurred on those initiatives and their future direction; and opportunities for how millennials can become civically involved.

The event will be streamed live on Facebook and Instagram. On the same day, Local Voices Network will also be hosting a community conversation at 4:30pm at the Jamaica Plain (register here separately and Egleston Square branches of the Boston Public Library where they will record neighborhood conversations on important local topics that will be searchable to journalists, decision-makers, and other local stakeholders to tune into the community’s real concerns. Afterwards, everyone will watch 6:30pm livestream together and have the opportunity to ask questions remotely.
