About This Workshop

Is your business looking to grow its customer base? Do you care about your customer acquisition costs? If so, that's good because these are some of the most important questions your VCs and partners will ask.

This workshop is designed for startup owners and business / marketing execs looking to build knowledge to tackle two of the most potent marketing channels for any business - SEO and SEM. Students will walk away with a solid base to create a search engine optimised web presence, and a base plan to start ranking for relevant terms in Google.

Lunch will be provided, including vegetarian options. Any dietary requirements must be sent to sydney@generalassemb.ly at least 48 hours before class commences.

Good things come to those who learn - GA. Students who take this workshop and then subsequently enrol in GA's Digital Marketing part-time course or immersive will receive a tuition credit towards the course equal to what they paid for this workshop (only applicable for students who have not yet enrolled).

Tom Willis is a digital strategy and marketing specialist with a passion for helping businesses to improve their online presence and connect with new audiences to drive growth.

Tom has diverse industry experience, having worked in digital marketing roles at ecommerce companies (Speets / Yahoo!7), B2B (iStock / Getty Images) and online gaming (Tom Waterhouse). More recently, Tom has applied his expertise to startups; in 2014, he joined LawPath, Australia’s largest online legal service. LawPath has since grown exponentially, assisting over 55,000 businesses, and helping save tens of millions in legal fees.

Tom has taught over 50 digital marketing workshops and courses at GA, specialising in marketing automation, SEO/SEM, web analytics and growth marketing for startups. Tom has also consulted and provided bespoke workshops for leading national and global companies including Uber, Sensis, Commonwealth Bank and Warner Music.
