About this workshop
In this six-hour workshop you will learn the basics of html, css and javascript by creating an application that searches Instagram for photos based off a tag. We call this application: InstaSearch.
Together, we will learn the following:
HTML basics
- How to get set up on your own computer
- Use the basic content tags (headings, images, links, paragraphs)
- Create different sections in your website (layout)
- Basic styling properties and how to connect with HTML
- Selectors and how the different sections of a site
- Using a CSS Framework (i.e. Bootstrap)
- Why is JavaScript such a popular language?
- The purpose of JavaScript and how it drives interactivity in your site
- Foundations of thinking like a programmer
- Consuming an API and making your application dynamic
Prereqs & Preparation
Please bring a laptop with a text editor already installed. We suggest Sublime Text.
