About this workshop

This workshop is Part 2 of the Intro to Power BI: Training for Beginners course. The course continues to build a dynamic dashboard in Microsoft Power BI to drive better decisions with data.

Power BI Desktop, a business intelligence tool with a freemium model, will help you to describe your data with charts and visualisations that dynamically update when your users interact with your custom dashboard. During this interactive workshop, we will introduce common Power BI features with a focus on working with data and demonstrate common data wrangling steps to transform data into a format for building a dashboard.

If you want to level-up your analysis skills and learn a new way to process, analyse and visualise data, join us in this introductory workshop and learn the fun and fundamentals of working with data with Power BI.

Please note: To participate in this workshop you will need to: • Have your camera turned on for the entire session • Have an accessible microphone • Be in a quiet, well-lit space with minimal distractions • Strong internet connection.

Prereqs & Preparation

Required: Install Power BI Desktop.

Datasets and files will be made available before the start of class to be downloaded onto your laptop.

This workshop is designed for anyone who works with data or interprets data from reports and dashboards. No programming or dashboard experience is required.
