About this event

What's better than learning a new skill? Being in your PJs while learning a new skill!

Join us for Pajamas & Python - the online, snug-in-your-bed with a cup of tea way of learning Python!

Build apps for the web and unlock data-driven insights with code.

Explore the intersection of coding and data with General Assembly. During our Python-focused intro class, you’ll learn you’ll learn all about Python - including how to get started, advantages and disadvantages of Python, essentials of programming in Python, and tools available to build applications in Python.

In this class, you'll:

  • Touch on fundamental Python programming techniques and tools.
  • Discuss its applications in data analysis and web development — and the types of problems it can solve.
  • See where Python programming fits into the data and web workflow.
  • Apply your new skills to solve a real-world problem with Python.

Chart your own career path. Pick up where this workshop leaves off. Enhance your professional skill set with Python skills in our 10-week, part-time Python Programming course.

In light of the evolving COVID-19 situation, we have put in place precautionary measures to keep our community safe. As we all make sense of the evolving situation, General Assembly is guided by two priorities: ensuring safety and health while minimising disruption to our learners.

Starting Monday, March 16, we will be moving all in-person programming to a remote learning environment and temporarily closing our campus facilities. This workshop/event will therefore be taking place live and online and instructions will be sent to those who sign up on how to prepare and log in for the session. Trust us this is just as fun and with the same learning outcomes as our remote format mirrors our in person format!

To learn more about our approach to online learning and best practices for remote classrooms, check out this video (NB: the event experience will differ slightly to this).

For more information of General Assembly’s response, check out our latest updates here. In the meantime, if you have any questions, please reach out to our student services team at sydney@generalassemb.ly.

This is a class for beginners; no prior knowledge is required.

Please Note
