Networking, whether during a job search or simply to maintain connections and grow your network, can be stressful - even for the most outgoing, extroverted professional. For an introvert however, the process can be downright paralyzing. Even though introverts are often creative, thoughtful and work well with others, it often seems that extroverts have the edge when it comes to networking and making beneficial professional connections. But introverts can make networking more enjoyable and successful, by translating it into an authentic approach that works for and not against their personality.
And here's the well-kept secret: networking is a set of tools and techniques, and no one is born knowing how to do use them perfectly. None of it is any harder to learn than all the things you already know how to do – but it does take practice.
In this session, we’ll open up the toolbox and uncover ways to make networking easy, interesting, and fun. You’ll learn how to approach networking events with a plan and a strategy, how to start an interesting conversation with pretty much anyone, and how to follow up with new contacts in a meaningful way. You’ll have a chance to practice on each other, and you’ll set some straightforward goals and create a networking plan to achieve them. Join us for this fun, experiential workshop designed to help make networking your favourite business development activity - based on universal principles and your own values.
