About this event

General Assembly and Boston Public Library invite you to our 2020 Let's Break it Down event series to demystify the world of tech. This month we are breaking down the field of Data Science.

See how the predictive power of data drives modern business. During our introductory workshop, explore the job Harvard Business Review has dubbed “the sexiest of the 21st century,” and see how modern businesses are harnessing the power of data to drive innovation. Working with real-world case studies, you’ll:

  • Learn what data scientists do and the types of problems they solve.
  • Learn how the pros identify powerful business predictions.
  • Explore key tools and processes data scientists use to analyze, visualize, and model data.

Chart your own career path. Pick up where this talk leaves off. Enhance your professional skill set in our 10-week, part-time Data Science course or become job-ready with our 12-week, full-time Data Science program.

Takeaways

What you'll learn:

  • Get a closer look at how the developer community and many different fields benefit from coding knowledge.
  • Learn how HTML and CSS function together to form the backbone of the web.
  • Cover key coding terms and principles.
