About This Workshop

Want to know what Sketch can do? Need a boost to get started?

In this workshop, you’ll gain an overview of Sketch, one of the fastest growing and most popular UX design tools on the market. You’ll become familiar with the UI. You’ll practice the basics of editing, navigating, native prototyping, exporting, and using symbols. Enough to get you started on creating demo-ready mockups. We’ll talk briefly about more advanced features such as nested symbols, modular layout tools, and libraries. Just enough for you to begin to see the full power of Sketch and how it might fit into your daily workflows.

This workshop is for designers and visual content creators who want to get started with Sketch, design managers who want to understand how it fits into team workflows, and anyone who wants to see for themselves whether Sketch really is as powerful and easy to use as people say it is.

Takeaways

  • Solid understanding of what Sketch is, and how it fits in the design lifecycle
  • Confidence in your ability to create simple design assets in Sketch
  • Enough foundational knowledge and skills to continue learning on your own

Preparation

  • Required: Mac laptop with Sketch installed (version 4 or later)
  • A mouse is recommended
