Surveys are a powerful tool to gather quantitative information, so you need a clear purpose to guide the types of questions you want answers for in your research. In this one night introductory class I’ll cover where surveys can be used with other research methods, and the basic types of surveys used in User Experience. Together we’ll build a basic survey using Google Forms, so you’ll get a first-hand appreciation of the basic techniques, what works and what doesn’t to visualise data you need from a survey. This will include common question formats, avoiding biases, visualising the data you’ll collect at the other end, and many other practical survey tips!
