We were all taught how to take notes, but unfortunately, nearly everything we were taught is wrong. After all, how often do you re-read the notes you take? And when you do, how vividly do they bring the original event back into your mind? Chances are, those handwritten or typed notes aren’t making much traction after the fact. But there is a better way.
Visual note-taking, or Sketchnoting, is a method of listening and recording information using both words and pictures. It helps with information retention, improves your brain’s ability to stay engaged during the event, and it’s fun. Best of all, anyone can do it. This hands-on workshop will prove it to you, introducing you to the fundamentals of sketchnoting and providing practice in both listening and drawing. Participants will leave armed with the knowledge and tools to think, capture, and communicate in big picture ways.
Students must bring a pen and an unlined notebook.
