    About this event

Join Jake Bernstein, a former Washington State Assistant Attorney General with 8 years of experience in the Consumer Protection Division, and Jason Sykes, an experienced Intellectual Property litigator, to discuss the dos and don'ts of innovative small business in the online world. Jake will speak on the intersection of user experience design, the pressures of new business ventures and the potential for crossing the line into illegal unfair or deceptive acts or practices. Jason will provide a high-level overview of Intellectual Property protections relevant to small companies including trademark and copyright protection, patent issues, and domain names. The presentation focuses on new and emerging companies who want to grow safely and smartly while avoiding regulatory issues and distracting legal battles.
