About this event

This event is part of How We Got There, a FREE virtual event series celebrating outstanding female leaders, innovators, and trailblazers across various industries. Head to the site to see the full schedule!

The venture industry has long been considered an ol’ boy club. Very few women are represented in VC itself, let alone the upper ranks. Gender imbalance in VC not only limits the spectrum of perspectives at the table and as a result, the diversity in portfolios, but also has a debilitating effect on women entrepreneurs, who can only claim a tiny piece of the capital pie.

In recent years, however, we’re seeing positive changes, with a rise in the number of women-led VCs and women playing an increasingly active role on the investment side of dealmaking.

We’ve assembled an expert panel of women venture capitalists who have led investments in dozens of companies in the region, with a few exits under their belt. They will discuss the benefits of diversifying the investment team, unique advantages of women-led VCs and how aspiring female professionals can break into the industry. We’ll also take a look at the current and future VC landscape: how the ecosystem has evolved over the years and which industries are primed for disruption.

This event series is of course open to all genders — anyone who supports the careers of women in business and tech is welcome to attend.
