About this event

In this current day, we see a huge influx of startups emerging from experiences and the desire to solve big problems, yet when we execute solutions we tend to prioritise the need to create highly-feasible products and sideline 'desirability'.

We see businesses like Airbnb centralise design as a pillar to their philosophy in each and every experience they offer from their branding to their customer support, UI, interior office design and tone of voice. IKEA pride themselves on memorable and engaging service design which provokes positive emotions during the shopping experience.

This talk is to inspire 'design first' as an essential philosophy for any startup. To encourage designers to think 'more design' in solving problems whilst inspiring positive and frictionless emotions for the end customer. How design can instil trust as a key outcome for a brand. How we can simplify the process of design thinking first and empower the need for creativity throughout the organisation.

Kurt Henderson, the co-founder and chief product officer of NAVA with a background in design and media has always centralised design as a key value to the startup and wants to share his experiences and thoughts on how it's had a positive impact in all aspects of the business.
