About this event

Goop is one of the rare places on the web where food, shopping, and mindfulness collide—generating the very best experiences, recipes, products, and advice. Originally conceived as a weekly e-mail newsletter, goop has grown significantly since its launch, now providing daily content and a roster of collaborations with top designers, partnering to create wardrobe staples and special finds. Goop has become a fully shoppable lifestyle brand, while continuing to provide suggestions about where to shop, eat, and stay from a trusted friend—not from an anonymous, crowd-sourced recommendation engine. Ultimately, goop is an indispensable resource for all who love to make, go, get, do, be and see. CEO Lisa Gersh has built on the momentum of the company started by Academy Award winning actress Gwyneth Paltrow, by diversifying its opportunities to engage directly with its consumers.

Lisa will discuss her career path as an executive and leader in the entertainment and media spaces, overcoming obstacles and challenges in male-dominated industries. She will focus on her work creating media companies and elevating them into relevant, reputable brands across broadcast and digital platforms.

Previously, Gersh served as President and CEO of Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia Inc. from 2011 – 2013. Prior to that, Gersh was President of Strategic Initiatives of NBCUniversal, Inc. from 2007 – 2011, where she pioneered the company’s Education Nation platform. Gersh also co-founded Oxygen Media, LLC in 1998, serving as its President and COO.
