This class will talk about the nature of happiness: what it is, how we can have more of it in our lives, and how we can avoid happiness-saboteurs, those common behaviors and ways of thinking that detract from our overall levels of well-being.
Incorporating the latest happiness research, we will do in-class written exercises that will help participants 1) feel happier, 2) think deeply about their current lives, and 3) brainstorm new ideas for better lifestyle design, including crafting the essential elements of your perfect day.
We will also introduce students to Meditation and Kundalini Yoga (the yoga of Awareness). There will be optional in-class meditative exercises and Kundalini Yoga breathing techniques for students interested in learning how to reduce stress levels without medication.
This is a beginner level class and the only prerequisite is an open mind and a willingness to participate in written class exercises. Please bring a pen or pencil and a notebook to class.
