About this workshop

Understanding financial model increases your knowledge of a business and your ability to impact it by determining the levers and understanding the sensitivity of the levers to your general business outputs, profits and cash flow.

The value of a company is solely determined by the projected cash flows a company can deliver Everything that can be done for a business can be explained using financial statements, which is why WS models their projections to determine the value of a business and hence the price per share of the business

In this very hands-on workshop students will get an overview of financial terms, ratios, and financial statements. Then, they will walk through a case study to apply those newly learned concepts and those business inputs to build the model. Using an excel financial model template (incomplete and completed) students will learn the ins and outs of excel financial modeling.

Prereqs & Preparation

• Must have working version of Microsoft Excel (2007 or newer)
• Working knowledge of excel and how to use basic functions
• Some understanding of how a company makes profit (i.e. what are sales? What are profits?)
