Sexual Health: a broad umbrella that includes the most personal health issues that we all face, at many stages of our lives, across all gender identities and sexual orientations. These challenges are intensely personal, but politicized in American society. Too often they bring stigma and shame, especially at moments when people need care and support.
How might we bring together the tools of media, public health, social justice and technology to develop new strategies to promote health and well-being?
With confidence and respect.
With empathy and an open mind.
With a design process pioneered by the world’s most innovative companies.
Join us for a one-day event that will bring together a wide range of people — community leaders, design facilitators, health experts, students, techies (and you!) — to explore, collaborate and create rapid prototypes of new solutions to our most personal challenges.
Topics may include: access to healthcare, birth control options, domestic violence, navigating consent, STD testing, and more.
In collaboration with experts from the worlds of public health and technology, we’ll facilitate honest conversations about what it means to be healthy — physically, emotionally, socially, sexually — in this diverse and hyper-connected world. Throughout the day we’ll work through a flexible framework that companies like Google Ventures and IDEO use to tackle complex challenges with quick action: Design Sprint.
You’ll come away with new perspectives, a broader network, and maybe even a portfolio piece. Ideas and prototypes will be accessible to community health organizations, both during the event and through social media.
