Perhaps the most popular and useful language in the world of data analytics- and one that non-programmers can easily learn. R provides a wide variety of statistical and graphical techniques and is highly extensible. In this introductory class, students would learn basics of R through a real-life relatable example that showcases how beneficial R can be. The entire class would be a programming example that builds upon itself throughout the class, as the class moves along students will learn concepts while adding to their individual programs.
R is an open source, free to use programming language for statistical analysis and mathematical modeling. In this workshop, you’ll get an introduction to the language, and learn the core principles of R as well as develop and test your own programs. This workshop is ideal for academics or students wanting to produce publication quality plots, as well as entrepreneurs, startups, small business owners, recent college grads, and other people interested in learning statistical computing.
