About this class

Always been curious about programming, but not sure if it suits you? Wondering what web development is like, but never tried it out? Or, are you learning to code on your own and need a helping hand?

This session, designed for the beginner programmer, will assume no previous coding knowledge. We'll go over three aspects of programming: the process, the types, and loops. By the end of the class, you'll have a sense of how powerful a program can be when you're in control of it. The session will be fully 'hands-on,' with students having a chance to write code on their laptop.

Takeaways

  • Understanding of the programming process, and the different types of languages
  • How to create a loop with Ruby

Prereqs & Preparation

No prerequisites. This class assumes no prior programming experience.

Bring a laptop. Preferably a Mac (which comes with Ruby installed). If you're bringing a PC, please install Ruby beforehand.
