About this event

General Assembly and Texas Ale Project join forces to introduce you to the programming languages that power the web. Join us and write your first line of code.

Whether you are brand new to tech, starting to dip your toes into code, or just curious about the intersection of tech and our daily lives, Code in the Brewery will inspire you to jumpstart your journey and never stop learning.

Capacity is limited so admission will be first come, first served. Please RSVP.

Bring your ID, a fully-charged laptop and an open mind. Be ready to learn while sipping a brew or two.

Schedule
6:00 PM: Check-in + grab a beer

6:30-8:30 PM: Intro to Coding: HTML & CSS - taught by Daniel Scott, Web Development Immersive Instructor at General Assembly

During our 2-hour introductory workshop, explore the building blocks of the web — HTML and CSS — and learn how you can apply these programming languages to develop your own simple sites. By writing your own lines of code, you’ll:

  • Get a closer look at how the developer community and many different fields benefit from coding knowledge.
  • Learn how HTML and CSS function together to form the backbone of the web.
  • Cover key coding terms and principles.
  • Develop a custom, working web page from scratch.

*(Beers are not included by RSVP'ing.)
