About this event

In celebration of Pride Month, GA NY will be hosting a FREE screening of the movie Kiki.

Join us for a night of Kiki. A Sundance Select based in New York drawing us into the scenes of dance, acceptance and a world of vogue. A must-see film that’ll inspire and make you want to POSE. Bring your friends or make new friends; we can't wait to see you there.

About the Movie In NYC, LGBTQ youth-of-color gather out on Christopher St. pier. Ballroom, a lifestyle and dance made famous in 90s by Madonna’s music video “Vogue” and “Paris Is Burning.” 25 years after these milestones, a new generation of LGBTQ youth formed an artistic activist subculture coined Kiki.

The film follows members of Kiki as they vogue and perform their best at the Balls, a glam gathering of showcasing your best selves. A light on the many elements that strike the community; this film affirms the resilience and inspiration of Twiggy Pucci Garçon, Chi Chi, Gia, Chris, Divo and more. These remarkable youths represent a unique and powerful personal story, illuminating the queer life in the U.S. for LGBTQ youth-of-color.

For more information on the film, please visit the website here.
