About this event

Business for Good is a panel series where we bring together industry experts to examine how businesses can operate more sustainably and make positive social impacts.

In this interactive panel discussion, leaders from misson-driven startups will discuss the power of business in reducing food waste.

Why it matters:

From the farm to your plate, there’s food waste at every step. Around 40% of the food produced in the U.S. is wasted every year and Americans spend $165B every year in food that's rotting in landfills.

According to a 2013 analysis by the United Nations’ Food and Agriculture Organization, the land devoted to producing wasted food would be the second-largest country in the world — smaller than Russia but considerably larger than Canada.

Agenda:

  • 6:30-6:45pm: Check in, networking
  • 6:45-7:20pm: Panel
  • 7:20-7:45pm: Q&A
  • 7:45pm: Wrap up, networking

Takeaways

  • Actionable steps you can take to live and work more sustainably
  • Network with local professionals interested in solving food waste problems
  • Insight into what the food industry is really doing to be more sustainable
