About this workshop

Get your feet wet in WordPress development by creating your own custom child theme, based on a popular WordPress default theme. In the process, you will learn how the WordPress theming system works, understand the template hierarchy, and learn the functions of common WordPress template tags. This class is intended for front-end developers, so an understanding of HTML and CSS is required. Please bring a computer with you capable of running a WordPress site on a standard LAMP stack (via MAMP, XAMP, etc.).

Prereqs & Preparation

HTML & CSS, laptop running a LAMP stack (MAMP, XAMP, etc.). Please bring a laptop to class. This class is intended for developers and we will be digging into WordPress code.
