Bitcoin Hackathon | Miami

About this event

The Miami Bitcoin Hackathon was founded in 2015 with the goal of introducing Bitcoin to the South Florida tech community. This year, the Blockchain Center will hosting the 6th annual Miami Bitcoin Hackathon. Bitcoin has established itself as an integral part of the global economy and we hope to continue to encourage new and existing developers to jump in and seize the opportunity. Join us for a great time and the chance to win some bitcoin.

The rules provided by the Blockchain Center:

1. Participants must be 18 years of age or older unless accompanied /given permission by a legal guardian.
2. All bitcoin forks allowed.
3. No verbal abuse, bullying, sexual harassment permitted. If your hackathon project incorporates any of these items, it will not be considered and your team will be disqualified.
4. Eligible participants may participate individually or as a team up to a limit of 5 people per team. A team can be just one person or up to five people.
5. Participants must register before January 18, 2020 8:30 a.m. EST. In other words, if you physically show up before we begin, you can still compete.
6. Submitted project must incorporate Bitcoin or a Bitcoin fork. You can also incorporate alt-coins or tokens just as long as bitcoin is also incorporated.
7. Each Participant is eligible to receive only one prize, whether individually or as a group.
8. Winners must accept prizes in the form of btc. The prizes are priced in btc so there is no issue with usd conversion or price fluctuations.
9. All submitted code must be created between the hacking period start and stop time on the Miamibitcoinhackathon.com website. Any participant or team who uses code which has been created before the hackathon start time will automatically be disqualified.
10. The team’s project must be hosted on Github in a public repo. Your team page must be updated with the repo’s url.
11. Participants can only contribute code toward their respective team and cannot share code, ideas or contribute code towards other teams.
12. By submitting your code, you agree to these rules.
13. Bitstop employees at the time of this event cannot participate as players or contestants.
