Barbie Does Puberty is a pop-up concept installation of 12 artists pushing the boundaries of society's understanding of gender, sexuality and body image as it relates to puberty.
Forward thinking artists were selected in the area of gender roles and feminism. They were provided a nude Barbie to be incorporated into their artwork. This is an exhibit about how the artist wants to portray PUBERTY on the female body. Artwork will be in the format of mixed media.
There will also be an interactive Planned Parenthood booth with volunteer information, as well as a music performance by Hairy Guppy.
