    About this event

Artists are motivated to make work for many different reasons. For some, engaging with the public is integral to their work, for others considering audience and engagement is a burden or stressful obligation.

Many grants, fellowships, residencies and higher education programs require that artists explain how their artwork will provide public benefit. Selection committees are often looking for more than great art. They want to know how their community will be positively impacted, in specific and sometimes measurable terms. In this panel discussion, we will hear from artists who have successfully defined and articulated the value and the public benefit of their work. They'll share their process for putting these thoughts and feelings into concrete ideas.

Stick around after for drinks and mingling after with fellow artists, designers, creatives and innovators, the drinks are on us!
