Harvard Business Review called Data Scientist the "sexiest job of the 21st century." Join us to learn about the lives of data scientists at the the hottest startups in London.
What the heck do data scientist do & what's their role in the business success & growth? Meet the people who drive the data to make pivotal business decisions. Learn the stories of data scientists in London and why they love what they do.
Milly learned to code when she realised that the sequence data from her laboratory research was too big to open in Excel. A couple of years later she’s playing with customer data from Deliveroo, Boohoo and Justeat, and teaching computers to recognise fraud at machine learning startup Ravelin.
She sees herself as part data scientist and part software engineer, tending to both identify and build product improvements. Her joy of digging through software architecture to figure out why model predictions aren’t as expected has led to nicknames including “modern day sherlock” and “the bug squasher”.
She’s been through the full-time Data Science Immersive course and now teaches on the part-time course, so is no new face to GA.
Mycchaka's journey into Data Science started with General Assembly's Data Science Immersive. There he learned to leverage his background in Mathematics towards building AI solutions, and has done so across a wide range of industries. From his first steps as a Machine Learning Engineer at an Edinburgh based startup, to his latest role as Senior Data Scientist Consultant, Myccha remains passionate in solving complex problems with just a few lines of Python.
On any given day you'll find Myccha scouring PyData for new algorithms, or at industry sponsored hackathons where he can test them out. He has contributed to various projects in the Tourism, E-Commerce, Healthcare and Real-state industries, but his current work centres on machine vision and geospatial analysis.
Alexandra started her professional career as a geoscientist building statistical models of the subsurface. Her fascination with all things data and machine learning led her to General Assembly where she attended the Data Science Immersive and now she works as a data scientist for TUI Group building recommender systems and predictive models from customer data.
