Austin
Wendy Davis is a former Texas State Senator, 2014 Texas Democratic Gubernatorial nominee, and founder of Deeds Not Words, a non-profit that empowers young women to participate in political discourse. Wendy led two filibusters in her time as a state senator, one fighting against $5.4 billion in cuts to public school funding and one for women’s reproductive rights. Wendy is a tireless and tenacious advocate – whether fighting for access to healthcare, fair lending practices, wage increases, clean air standards, voting rights, fair redistricting, or economic equality. She lives in Austin near her two granddaughters and is running for Congress in District 21.
Wendy has recently been endorsed by EMILY's List, Planned Parenthood, NARAL, Brady, and League of Conservation Voters. She has signed the End Citizens United pledge to not accept money from corporate PAC's or federally registered lobbyists - earning their endorsement and making her campaign truly of, by and for the people.
