Waverley Aufmuth

Marketing + Communications Manager, Bi-Rite Family of Businesses: Bi-Rite Market, Bi-Rite Creamery, Bi-Rite Catering + Events

Waverley trained as a Pastry Chef in San Francisco, where she learned firsthand the challenges of forging a sustainable food system and the value of direct producer relationships. Waverley earned her Master’s Degree in Food Culture & Writing at NYU, where her study of Mexican cuisine and communities in California culminated in her graduate thesis on the meaning of the Mission Burrito to San Franciscans. Waverley returned to the Bay Area and joined the team at Seedling Projects, the organization behind the Good Food Awards, where she led the foundation and growth of the Good Food Merchants Guild – an organization dedicated to fostering and supporting specialty food producers with sustainable business practices and uniting them into a powerful economic force. Waverley has worked as both a restaurant consultant and publicist, with an intimate understanding of the various channels through which brands can market and promote themselves. In 2015, Waverley joined the Marketing team at the Bi-Rite Family of Businesses, where she worked closely with the Director of Product and Buyer team to develop and codify sustainability and sourcing guidelines for product. As the Marketing & Communications Manager, Waverley manages the communications strategy, content development, and execution for the Bi-Rite Family of Businesses.
