Tunde Ogunnoiki
Creative Director, FRESH.I.AM
Tunde was born in Lagos, Nigeria, days before the vehement palace coup of 1985 to a business entrepreneur and fashion boutique owner. He spent much of his time in Nigeria gaining inspiration and insight from his aunt and grandmother. At the age of 13, he relocated to the U.S., which marked the maturing of his creative drive. The transition provided him with a varied perspective on how to approach his work. With this, +FRESH.i.AM+ was founded as a result of being prematurely released from school for the content of his art. This blessing in disguise opened up many opportunities, such as being mentored by Korean-American artist, Dosa Kim. Since then, his brand has become one of the most influential street wear labels nationally and internationally, being worn by prominent mega stars like Rihanna and G-Dragon. Tunde has also participated in shows as a solo artist, given art talks and directed music videos and cinematic look books accumulating in over half a million views. Both art and fashion have presented him with a platform for expressing the merge of past struggles with more fruitful tomorrows.
