Success means more than just a pay cheque for Tony Wu. Growing up in an immigrant family, he watched his parents work long 15 hour days to put food on the table and send Tony to school - he knew this wasn’t the path for him. To impact, inspire and spark positive change is what pushes Tony to work hard and make a difference.
Tony’s career and experience is vast yet complimentary. He has worked in complex busi-ness development and relationship management roles as a lead consultant with one of the world’s top four recruitment firms, helped kick start Telstra’s B2B centre in their Icon store and set up a customer care centre for a major mining company.
His true passion has always been entrepreneurship. While studying the Bachelor of Busi-ness Entrepreneurship at RMIT, he experimented in projects ranging from marketing and brand consultancy to entertainment and fashion.
In 2013 Tony was selected for StartUpSmart’s Future Makers list of young entrepreneurs under 25. That same year with just $150 in his pocket, he founded Saibu no Akuma - a be-spoke lifestyle brand disrupting the Melbourne menswear scene.
When Tony isn’t working or trekking Mount Everest with his life partner, Ly Nguyen, he is training in his other passion, Brazilian jiu-jitsu.
