Tom Moore spent seven years in the Australian Army as infantry soldier and infantry officer including leading a 60 person combat team in Afghanistan for eight months.

Unfortunately, Tom suffered a physical injury whilst serving in the defence force removing him from active duty. As he could no longer serve in a physically strenuous role, he was reassigned to manage a transition and contract termination cell within the Australian Army where he saw firsthand the current transition model employed by the government, as well as worked closely with the current private sector transition service providers. In this role, Tom personally transitioned 370 personnel.

When Tom left the military, he decided to manage his own transition and test his observations. Despite his awareness of the issues and his proactive effort to mitigate them, he himself found it significantly difficult to find employment as based on his previous experience, education and qualifications, society determined he was only fit for work as a marketing assistant, non-mobile security officer or as a café worker.

Tom conducted his own transition program ended up working in digital marketing sales and product development where he quickly grew to become an account executive managing some their largest clients including HP before creating WithYouWithMe.

The name ‘WithYouWithMe’ is a military catch-cry for urban entry drills that essentially translates to ‘I have your back, we are in this together.’ This name was chosen because it simultaneously resonates with military personnel and conveys WithYouWithMe’s staunch belief that it is time veterans step up and solve their own problem with transition, and stop relying on government and NFP’s to solve it for them.
