Growing up in the North of England, the importance of beer quickly became apparent to Toby. He started working behind the bar way before he could even see over the bar.
He escaped the UK straight from university and after tours of duty in Middle East and Australia, he washed up in Hong Kong in 1996. Toby got involved with The Globe in 2003 just as SARS was kicking in. The Globe finally managed to grow up and move into the current location 4 years ago, add a full kitchen to become the Gastropub it had always aspired to be. With an ever changing stock of over 150 beers, fantastic complementary menu, tutoured beer tastings and Beer Dinners, The Globe has been at the forefront of the recent upsurge in interest in beer in Hong Kong.
