Tessa Zimmerman​ is the Founder and Executive Director of ASSET Education​, a nonprofit organization on a mission to equip educators with a curriculum of concrete tools to help students reduce anxiety and build resilience. Tessa founded ASSET because she grew up having severe panic attacks in the classroom and firsthand experienced the lack of mental health resources in schools. In the past four years, she has grown ASSET to impact 16,000+ students in Colorado, Connecticut, South Dakota, South Carolina, Florida, Wisconsin and North Carolina. Her work has been supported by Mr. & Mrs. Harold McGraw III, Wend Ventures, the Chan Zuckerberg Initiative, and the Colorado Health Foundation.

In2017,herfirstbook,I​​AmTessa​,​waspublishedbyOneIdeaPress.Sheco-authored ASSET’s ​Becoming Your Own ASSET c​ urriculum as well as their ​Personal Practice Toolkit for Educators​. She has been recognized by Forbes as a "wildly successful millennial with an untraditional education narrative." Tessa holds a B.S. in Social Entrepreneurship from the Watson Institute at Lynn University, recognized as the Olympic training ground for next-generation social entrepreneurs. She is also a 200-hour certified yoga teacher. Tessa lives by the tools and practices she shares.
