Susan is a growth marketer specializing in content and multi-channel remarketing as part of the 500 Startups Distribution Team.
Prior to 500 Startups, she ran marketing and sales for media startup Inside Network (acquired by WebMediaBrands in 2011), AppSumo.com, and Ramit Sethi / IWillTeachYouToBeRich.com.
At Inside Network, Susan established scalable business and organizational processes for a startup that grew from from a founding team of three, to a staff of 10, to acquired in a year and a half. She was the key “full-stack” product and marketing strategist working alongside the founder / CEO to develop paid subscription programs and industry conference series that led to Inside Network’s $14M acquisition by WebMediaBrands, Inc. in May 2011. Susan’s experience at Inside Network covered enterprise sales, b2b marketing, events, and industry analysis.
At AppSumo, Susan led the company’s business development team, where she tripled the number of content partnership deals closed and grew sales revenue from $150,000 monthly to over $500,000 monthly, marketing daily to an email list of over 700,000 subscribers. She also designed and oversaw the creation of AppSumo’s proprietary flagship online courses on marketing and entrepreneurship.
Prior to this, Susan worked on content marketing for Ramit Sethi’s New York Times / Amazon / WSJ best-selling book, I Will Teach You To Be Rich, and helped to create and market Ramit’s first online course about freelancing, “Earn1K”.
Susan began her career in the Valley at Google working on the internationalization team for Google Earth, and on content development at social gaming company hi5.
