Denver
After spending nearly 15 years doing "Swiss-Army Analytics" in a lab studying pediatric cancer, Steve moved to Denver about 3 years ago and started his career in the Tech sector. He first attended an immersive Data Science bootcamp, then helped teach the following cohort.
From there Steve began working on the Business Intelligence team at Ibotta. He was part of a small team that was able to overhaul the entire ETL pipeline. He also helped to build, maintain, and support reporting and dashboards for hundreds of internal clients and thousands of external clients. After Ibotta, Steve began working on the Data Science team at Gaia where he was able to build complex models to accurately predict churn of subscribers after only a few days of behavioral data. Steve was also able to help update slow and inefficient reporting processes and help migrate the data team from outdated data warehousing to modern data lake architectures.
Steve is excited to help students learn programming with Python and to potentially help them in their journey of changing careers. Although it's not easy, but it can be a lot of fun and incredibly rewarding!
