After working at two venture-backed startups, Shane started Startup Genome, a nonprofit that maps and tracks entrepreneurial ecosystems around the world. As COO, Shane globally scaled Startup Weekend which now runs 1,200 events per year in over 100 countries. Shane developed Lean Startup curriculum for Fortune 500 clients and startup accelerators. Shane is a visible leader in the Omaha startup community where he mentors at StraightShot and NMotion, runs events including 1 Million Cups, Lean Startup Circle and Startup Weekend, and curates the Omaha Startup Digest newsletter.
