Shanaz Chowdhery is an operations executive with a deep passion for education. She began her career as a Teach For America corps member and taught 5th and 7th-grade math in Ward 8 of Washington, DC. In early 2014, Shanaz joined General Assembly: starting in admissions, she later served as the Regional Director for Washington, D.C., overseeing campus strategy, operations, and growth. In 2018, Shanaz joined Vemo Education as a General Manager focusing primarily on skills-based training providers and later served as a Chief of Staff responsible for operationalizing strategic initiatives. In 2021, Shanaz became the Head of Community for Career Karma. Throughout her career, Shanaz has pursued two main missions: democratizing access to high-quality education and creating systems that elevate the entire company. The first in her entire family to attend college, Shanaz has earned a B.A. in Sociology with Honors from Yale University. Shanaz firmly believes that education is the strongest vehicle of social and economic mobility, having experienced its transformative power firsthand.
