Austin
Sean Ramsey has a rich history in the Austin start-up scene, having spent 18 years in software product development and management, most recently at the LIVESTRONG Foundation. As the Director of Product Management, Sean develops digital tools and products that improve the daily experience for cancer patients and survivors and help remove barriers to quality cancer treatment. In addition, Sean is helping navigate the Foundation through areas of technology and innovation as it develops the LIVESTRONG Cancer Institutes at the Dell Medical School at The University of Texas at Austin. Informing this process are Foundation events and programs such as Rev-Forum, the Big C, and most recently, Austin Causathon, where LIVESTRONG continues to play a leader role in convening survivors, health care providers, technologists and investors in seeking new models of patient-centered care for cancer patients. Prior to LIVESTRONG, Sean co-founded Avatar Technology, Inc., a web software development firm that worked with medium and large-size clients including New Balance, Igloo Coolers and Texas Highways Magazine. Avatar later merged with Alchemy Systems, where Sean helped form the product marketing department before moving on to local start-ups LibreDigital and AllClear ID as the Director of Product Management. When he’s not thinking about new ways to innovate, Sean enjoys spending time with his wife and three daughters, hiking, camping and playing tennis.
