Sean McBride is the D.C. Chapter Lead of Operation Code, a nonprofit committed to helping military, veterans, and military spouses learn to code, break into tech, and continue service through contributions to open-source software. Shortly after his commissioning as an Aviation Officer, Sean was grounded from flight duty due to medical complications, ultimately leading to his medical discharge one day after promoting to First Lieutenant. He’s held several technology positions since transitioning into tech in 2010, including Lead Cloud Solutions Architect for the FAA, Senior IT Specialist at IBM, and lead Fullstack Software Engineer for Decipher Technology Studio’s Grey Matter product team. He’s a graduate of West Point, Illinois Tech, and most recently Fullstack Academy’s Remote Immersive coding bootcamp.
