Scott Wilson is an American design entrepreneur and recipient of the prestigious Smithsonian Cooper-Hewitt National Design Award. The former Nike Global Creative Director is the founder of MINIMAL, a Chicago and San Francisco based product realization, brand incubation and innovation agency. Best known for his disruptive approach to design and business, Wilson changed the face of entrepreneurialism when he simultaneously sparked the global crowdfunding and wearables movement in 2010, raising $1m in 30 days for his LUNATIK watch project. He and his MINIMAL team have been the collaborative creative force and instigator behind many of today’s most successful game-changing products and experiences. His field of play ranges widely from technology, medical and consumer products to lifestyle, furniture and environments. A master of balancing the rational and the emotional, the intersection of technology and art, as well business and consumer needs, Wilson maintains a hand-on approach, his skills shifting seamlessly from that of inventor, designer, storyteller, strategist, entrepreneur and engineer. A TIME Magazine Top 100 Designer, Wilson was recently named one of Fast Company’s Most Influential Designers as well as one their Most Creative People in Business.
