Hong Kong
After working for more than a decade in the luxury fashion industry and following the birth of her first child, Sarah was looking for a way to fuse her experience with purpose. It wasn’t long before the seeds for RETYKLE were planted and then launched in April 2016. Born and raised in Canada, doing your part for the environment is implicit in the culture. Observing the unmatched appetite for consumption in Hong Kong, Sarah’s home for almost the past decade, and having been a part of the perpetual fashion cycle left her feeling that the industry was heading in a perilous direction. The kids fashion market is particularly damaging as parents often veer towards fast fashion choices because of the speed at which their kids move through sizes. Sarah started RETYKLE to give parents another choice - redistributing well made high end clothing which has a longer lifespan to carry on from family to family at a big discount. Building on her years of experience with Holt Renfrew, Lane Crawford, LVMH and Richemont Group, her goal is to parallel a luxury experience by making secondhand as good (if not better) as buying new.
