Rukmal De Silva is the Managing Director of The Plus Ones, a media company that showcases thousands of events across the world. Each year his team of several hundred writers covers 1,000s of events, and loves nothing more than experiencing the unique.
After spending almost a decade in finance, Rukmal was keen to apply his focus on revenue generation to the digital marketing space — as it applies to events. This led him to create a ROI-focused digital arm of The Plus Ones which is responsible for creating sales-focused Facebook campaigns that make new sales for event organisers.
Traditionally the team’s campaigns are implemented for medium to large festivals (1,000 to 100,000 people), and look to 1) acquire new subscribers 2) engage existing audiences so that they keep coming back. Their greatest joy in the digital space is that you can track everything, and track they do!
